Bird Proofing

Love them or hate them, birds are an essential part of our natural environment. They maintain a balance, control insects and other pests, and perform vital roles in the germination of many plants. But sometimes a need arises for bird-proofing.

Pigeons also called city doves, city pigeons, or street pigeons, are pigeons that are derived from the domestic pigeons that have returned to the wild. The domestic pigeon was originally bred from the wild rock dove, which naturally inhabits sea-cliffs and mountains. Rock, domestic, and feral pigeons are all the same species and will readily interbreed. Feral pigeons find the ledges of buildings to be a substitute for sea cliffs, have become adapted to urban life, and are abundant in towns and cities throughout much of the world.

Birds are a perfect mechanism for spreading disease because they travel great distances, harbor over forty types of parasites and can host internally over sixty types of infectious diseases that can affect you, your family and pets and now with the possible treat in the next few years of bird flu, controlling pest birds around your home or business is even more important.
